What you'll eat
The cooking of a Romanian home, served in a restaurant
Romanian cuisine isn't spicy or complicated: it's hearty, eat-it-with-a-spoon food. Soups that can come with sour cream and chilli on the side, fermented cabbage, cornmeal polenta instead of bread if you like, and grilled meat with no sauces to hide it.
If it's your first time, start with a ciorbă or a platter, move on to sarmale or mici and finish with papanași. Unless you'd rather let our staff advise you, of course! If you're Romanian, you already know what you're after — and you'll find it here.
